Bishop

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

With great joy and gratitude to God, we welcome you to the official website of the Apostolic Vicariate of Nekemte.

This website is more than a platform for sharing information. We hope it will become a space of communion, participation, communication, and mission – a place where our faithful, pastoral agents, clergy, religious, catechists, youth, families, partners, benefactors, and friends can remain connected with the life and mission of our Vicariate.

As a Church, we are called to live the spirit of synodality: to walk together, listen to one another, discern together, and participate actively in the mission of Christ. We believe that the mission of the Church is a shared responsibility. Each person, according to his or her vocation, gifts, and responsibilities, has an important role in building up the People of God.

The Apostolic Vicariate of Nekemte seeks to proclaim the Gospel and accompany our people through evangelization, catechetical formation, youth and family ministry, vocation promotion, formation of pastoral agents, health, education, social and charitable activities, and the promotion of peace, reconciliation, justice, human dignity, and integral human development.

This website will help us share reliable and up-to-date information about our pastoral and social activities, parishes, missions, projects, events, achievements, challenges, and future plans. It will also help our partners, benefactors, and other stakeholders better understand our pastoral realities and discover ways of joining us in our mission.

We hope this platform will strengthen communication and collaboration throughout the Vicariate and become a means of listening and learning from one another. In the spirit of synodality, may it help us to become a Church that listens before speaking, accompanies before judging, serves before seeking recognition, and works together for the common good!

Our pastoral mission cannot be accomplished by one person or one group alone. It is a shared mission. Bishop, priests, religious, catechists, lay faithful, young people, families, pastoral councils, communities, and our partners all have a valuable contribution to make.

We therefore invite you to explore this website, learn about our mission, share in our pastoral journey, pray with us, share relevant articles, and join us in building a Church that is rooted in Christ, close to the people, open to dialogue, committed to service, and filled with hope.

May this website be a bridge connecting people, a window into the life of our Church, and a tool for better service!

As we continue our synodal journey, may the Holy Spirit guide us to walk together, listen together, pray together, discern together, and serve together, so that Christ may be known, loved, and proclaimed among all the people entrusted to our pastoral care.

May God bless you and all who contribute to the mission of the Apostolic Vicariate of Nekemte.
