The curia officials:

Vicar General: Abba Takele Tesfaye

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

With deep gratitude to God, I join our Bishop in welcoming you to the official website of the Apostolic Vicariate of Nekemte. This platform is a sign of our growing communion and a tool for strengthening our mission of faith, service, and unity.

As Vicar General, I am blessed to witness the dedication of our clergy, religious, and lay faithful. Together, we strive to build a community rooted in the Gospel, where evangelization, pastoral care, and social outreach walk hand in hand.

This website will serve as a living channel of communication – sharing updates on parish life, resources for spiritual growth, and opportunities for community engagement. May it inspire us to deepen our faith and to work together for peace, justice, and solidarity.

Let us continue to walk as one family in Christ, guided by the Holy Spirit, and supported by the intercession of Mary, Mother of the Church.

In Christ,

Abba Takele Tesfaye

Nekemte Catholic Secretariat (NCS)

To harmonize and strengthen its dual mission of spiritual and social development, the Vicariate established Nekemte Catholic Secretariat (NCS) in 1995. NCS functions as the executive arm of the Vicariate, coordinating pastoral ministry and social ministry across the Jurisdiction.

The Pastoral Ministry

Focusing on the spiritual activities and faith formation of the community.

The Social Ministry

Dedicated to social and development activities that improve the quality of life.

This integrated structure is driven by a foundational philosophy of Integrated Human Development, which seeks to holistically serve the whole person – spiritually, socially, and economically – across the entire jurisdiction of the Vicariate.
